Ashdown Park
Ashdown Park is a neo-Gothic Grade II listed mansion house in the heart of the Ashdown Forest. It has a choice of period rooms including a converted chapel and beautifully landscaped grounds, The Richard Towneley Suite is a converted chapel with a vaulted hammer beam ceiling and is lit beautifully by stained glass windows. The venue offers fantastic possibilities for shots inside and out.
Preparation
I met the Oliver and Alina at the Olympia wedding fayre and I was very pleased that they chose me over 30 other photographers displaying that weekend. We met before the day at Ashdown Park and explored the photographic possibilities.
Wedding Day
The couple got married in Central London at the St Charles Borromeo Church and then we all travelled to Ashdown Park. Their wedding was an intimate affair with around 40 guests. Oliver and Alina chose the venue because it had a country feel to it. They were both enthusiastic about the wedding photography on the day. They were a striking couple to photograph and naturally posed for some fashion type shots. Alina had a lovely dress that could be used to effect in the wedding photography. We photographed inside the Townley Suite and used the exterior for some dramatic shots by the door. Elevation always adds a different dimension to wedding photography and I climbed the spiral staircase to get some interesting shots which were then post processed to draw attention to the couple. Oliver and Alina had a choreographed dance to end the wedding day photography in style.
