How long do you stay at the wedding for?

I don't have separate packages for different coverage times as I always cover the whole day. I am happy to meet the bride earlier in the day while she is getting ready at a hotel or her home. I like to capture the speeches, the first dance and the cutting of the cake. I expect to be at the wedding for a minimum of 7 hours.

Do we get all the pictures?

A CD of high resolution photographs of all the shots on the day minus any outtakes (unflattering shots, duplicates etc) can be purchased for £250. All these images will have been individually post processed.

How many pictures do you take?

The number of pictures depends on the size of the wedding, the scope of the surroundings, and weather on the day etc. An average wedding will have 300+ quality images after removing the out-takes.

How quickly will the pictures be ready?

You can expect to receive a preview of the pictures within 3 weeks. The album will take approximately 3 weeks from the date of ordering and the order date is dependent on you being happy with the design and choice of photographs. I provide you with an album design draft in pdf format and then you make suggested changes to the design and photograph content, until you are happy.

Will you photograph everyone?

This is a difficult one to promise. For a small wedding of 50 people I attempt to get shots of nearly everyone. However I am trying to capture the spirit of the day and the special moments, rather than a simple record of the people present. Therefore it is important that if there any people who simply must be photographed you either make sure that you request a formal shot with them in or assign an usher to point them out for special attention.

What is your standard group photograph

There is no standard list. The best thing is for the bride and groom to prepare the list and then I will suggest if I think the list is too long for the time we have available. I also like to take time out to photograph the bride and groom. This is usually done at the beginning of the reception. The aim is to balance your requirements to get some memorable portrait photographs and for you not to be away from your guests for too long. Therefore I always work within your timescales and not mine.

Do you shoot with film or digital

I shoot in digital as the advantages for wedding photography outweigh film. Digital quality is as good as film for the purposes of wedding photography. I can shoot more pictures, get immediate feedback on images, and retouch them easily with image editing software.

Do you shoot any black and white images?

As you will see from my portfolio there are a number of black and white images. I always shoot in colour and then convert a selection of appropriate images to various black and white tones using image editing software.

Do we have to meet you to book you?

I advise on an initial meeting to review my portfolio and then nearer your wedding date I advise a meeting where we visit the church and the venue. It is important to develop a rapport and therefore I am happy to stay in regular contact and discuss your wedding photography requirements.

Do you take photographs in the church?

Photography in the church is at the discretion of the vicar. Sometimes they only allow photography at certain moments, e.g. exchanging the rings. If there are no restrictions I seek to be unobtrusive and never use flash.

When do we pay you?

I take a £250 deposit to book the day which is payable when you complete the paperwork and then the remaining balance at least 28 days before the wedding date.
